Social Worker Supervisor
Reports To: Program Director
Status: Part-time
Exemption Status: Exempt
- MSW, LCSW preferred
- Social work experience in foster
care and adoption preferred
- Excellent supervision and
management skills required
- Knowledge of child welfare, community
care licensing, adoption and foster care issues and regulations
- Strong practical and theoretical
foundation in strength-based practices
- Expertise in administration and
planning, risk assessment, and crisis intervention
- Ability to work collaboratively
and effectively with staff at all levels, county child welfare agencies and
community resource agencies
- Proficiency in computer technology
- Possess a valid
California driver’s license, proof of
adequate vehicle insurance and have access to reliable transportation.
- Must submit to and pass health
screen, TB test, criminal record and child abuse index clearances.

Placer Kids Foster Parent
Liaison
Reports To: Social Work Supervisor
Status: Part-time
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
The Placer Kids Foster Parent Liaison will provide
support to foster/adoptive parents, act as a liaison between the Placer County
Children’s System of Care (CSOC) and Sierra social workers and the families.
This person will facilitate the foster parent support group and take a
leadership role in the Foster Adoptive Kinship Association. The liaison will be
the lead for the Placer Kids annual Adoption Day and other recruitment and
appreciation events. The liaison will develop and maintain positive
relationships with foster parents and provide support, encouragement, psycho-education,
coaching and referrals to assist families who are providing care for children
and youth living in foster care in
Placer
County.
- Experience
as a foster/resource/adoptive parent.
- High
School Diploma or GED required. Some
college courses or degree preferred.
- Knowledge
of, and ability to teach/coach others in, effective strategies to provide care
for children and youth in foster care.
- Understanding
of the affects of loss and grief, and child/youth development.
- Working
knowledge of
Placer
County community
resources.
- Understanding
of family-centered and strength-based
programs.
- Ability
to work collaboratively and effectively with foster/adoptive parents, county
child welfare staff, community resource agencies, and other team members.
- Basic
knowledge of child welfare.
- Basic
proficiency in computer technology.
- Willingness
to work non-traditional hours as the job necessitates.
- Cultural competence to work with diverse populations.
- Possess
a valid California Driver’s License, proof of adequate vehicle insurance and
have access to reliable transportation.
- Must
